What is Street Painting?

Since the 16th Century in Italy, artists have created beautiful paintings on sidewalks using pastel chalks. Street painting is still popular in Europe and has been gaining popularity in the United States over the years.

About the Artists

Sponsors designate their favorite artist as their madonnari, Italian for street painter, or ArtHaus staff can pair up an artist with a sponsor. This is an excellent opportunity for artists to showcase their talents while volunteering their time to raise money for children's programming at ArtHaus. Artists are given an assortment of chalks and choose their own design. Their design must be approved by ArtHaus before the event and must not include company names, logos, or words.
