In-School Lecture Series

ArtHaus first introduced this programming series during the 1997-98 school year. Steve Aimone visited local schools discussing Modern Art. We were able to reach hundreds of students that first year. Today we serve thousands of Volusia County students.

Guest artists throughout the year conduct school Lectures, demonstrations and hands on workshops. It is the Foundation's goal to enhance the current curriculum by providing these programs free of charge. The News-Journal and ArtHaus have been able to provide students and teachers the opportunity to interact with and learn from professional artists. Each program is individually prepared with the teacher and artists to satisfy his or her student's needs.

This past year Anna Tomczak, Trish Thompson, John Wilton and Tim Ludwig all traveled to area schools. We are hard at work to ensure that next years series is our biggest and most exciting to date. If you have any suggestions or would like an artist to visit your classroom, please contact the office at (386) 767-0076. Artists should also contact the office if they are interested in working with a local elementary, middle or high school.
